Want to be a winner? Join the CHL!

No, not the Canadian Hockey League that is the biggest feeder into the NHL, but the Central Hockey League.
Quick backstory: The CHL merged with the International Hockey League in a Brady Bunch-type marriage with teams stretching from Arizona to Ohio and South Dakota to Texas to create a 18 team league. What's crazy and dumb at the same time is how they run their playoff format: 16 teams make it in. Yes, you read right, everyone but two teams advance to the postseason. While this may not be an unusual move for youth/high school teams, this is the first time in my memory that this kind of format hits the pros while embracing a culture of mediocrity and an interesting way to run a league. The All-Star Game is a tale by itself; the game consists of the league champion, in this case, the Rapid City Rush taking on an All-Star team with everyone else. Can anyone else see "Gang up on the champion?". We'll keep our eyes open to see how long this format (and the league) lasts.
